Johannes Grames - Electric Guitar

His professional Music Experience includes playing with The Grames Brothers (www.gramesbrothers.com) as lead guitarist. Johannes produced and co-wrote both CD releases, “In our Time” and “Strange Beautiful”. He toured extensively in Western Canada, Alaska, and Washington with The Grames Brothers. In 2004, Johannes was a guitarist with Bobbie Taylor of “Bobbie Taylor and the Vancouvers”. From 1996-1999 he played with "The Johannes Grames Quartet" which featured some of Vancouver's finest musicians, such as Chris Terry and Brad Turner from Juno award winning band Metalwood, and Randall Stoll, drummer for KD Lang and Tom Cochrane, respectively. From 1995 -1998, Johannes played for the Nancy Weisler Band as lead guitarist and played on her CD “Live By Letting Go”. And from 1993-1995, Johannes played to “The Russell Jackson Band“ as lead guitarist. Russell Jackson was a member of the B.B. King band for 7 years.

 

Paul O'Callaghan - Guitar, Piano, Hammond Organ.

Paul is an accomplished musician, playing guitar, piano, flute, mandolin, organ and harmonica. He has played in variety of folk and contemporary musical ensembles over the past ten years, has performed in Europe and Canada and was a member of an established folk group, Brigadoon, in Ireland. Since moving to Canada Paul has played with various groups on the Vancouver music scene and has recently joined the Widowmakers and will be playing live with Farrell.

 

Donna Partridge - Back-up Vocals

Donna Partridge was born in Manitoba and performed her first public solo at the age of 7. Through her teens she studied music at the Royal Conservatory, ballet through the Royal Winnipeg and Classical voice with Judith Pringle. Years of performing in the festival circuit in piano, theatre, voice and dance led her to other artistic pursuits and eventually to Western Canada .

Donna works as a potter and painter in Vancouver, British Columbia and is thrilled that singing with Farrell Spence and the Widowmakers has been added to her creative outlets.

 

Linda Bull - Violin, Viola, Banjo

Linda moved to Vancouver from Australia in late 2003. While a classically trained violinist and violist, she has an avid interest in traditional music and in particular with Old-Time, Scandinavian and Celtic styles. While sharing and exploring her passion for Irish, Scottish and English folk tunes with the Maenads she also plays chamber music with other local classical musicians and is a member of the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra. Her old-time band Plough performed at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival in 2007 and was recently featured on a compilation of local bluegrass and old-time bands called Whiskey Hollow Bound. She has travelled in recent years around the East Coast of the US collecting songs and tunes along the way. She plays, violin/fiddle viola and banjo and also sings with her band Plough, who will be performing this year at the Mission Folk Music Festival.
